2015 Pan Am Games – July 10-26 / 2015 Parapan Am Games – August 7-15

“The Pan American Games/Parapan Am Games are the world’s third largest international multi-sport Games; they are only surpassed in size and scope by the Olympic Summer Games and the Asian Games.”

As part of the Pan-Am Games, there are many free concerts being held this summer including:

Calle 13 – July 25
Chromeo – August 7
The Roots – August 8
Jann Arden – August 11
Austra – August 12

There are also some sporting events that are free to watch:

  • Waterskiing and Wakeboarding – July 20-23
    • Both courses for these exciting competitions are held at the Ontario Place West Channel. This is a ticketed event but there may be spots along the waterfront near the former Ontario Place amusement park where you can catch the action.
  • Men’s Marathon – July 25
  • Cycling Road Race – July 25
  • Race Walk – July 26
    • This is a 50 km race that will take place near Exhibition Place. Course map is available here (.pdf).
  • Para Pan Am Cycling Road Race – August 8
  • Para Pan Am Closing Ceremonies – August 15


Caribana: Toronto Caribbean Carnival – July 7-August 2

“Formerly Caribana, the Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival hits the streets and stages of Toronto this summer for its 46th year, featuring events that celebrate the music, cuisine and arts of the Caribbean region. This popular event features some of the biggest highlights of the summer including the Caribana Grand Parade, Annual Gala and the tent villages. Known for drawing close to a million spectators in past years, the Caribbean Carnival is the largest cultural festival of its kind in North America.”

Beaches International Jazz Festival – July 10-26

Toronto’s Festival of Beer – July 24-25 @ Exhibition Place
